BIOGRAPHY

​

James Humphrys is a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based In Bristol, Uk. Taking influences from bands like Foals, Parcels, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Jungle, James’s music is a unique concoction of upbeat funk-filled dream pop with often surprisingly melancholic lyrics.

 

James has played venues ranging from Bristol’s Thekla to the Royal Albert Hall, selling out headlines shows at Bristol’s Crofters Rights and London’s The Brink and supported the likes of San Cisco, Shortstraw and Cassia. In addition to multiple sets with London’s Sofar Sounds, James has also joined the line-up at Glastonbury Festival, 2000 Trees and Dot to Dot Festival.

 

2020 saw James release his second EP, ‘Memory Palace’, collecting mass praise from tastemakers such as Stereoboard, The Rodeo Magazine, CLOUT, and Indie Central Music to name but a few. James hit the ground running in 2021 with a music video for his single ‘Three Weeks’ staring Netflix’s Jessie Mei Li, support from Radio 1 with his single 'Eyes Up Front' and 'Just A Little'. with a catalogue of unreleased music up his sleeve, 2023 is set to be an exciting year for James, having released two new tracks from his forthcoming EP, 'Sticky' and 'Just A Little'.
